Welcome to the POLSTER Truck Company. Grab one of our pillows, get comfortable and let me introduce you to the POLSTER family.

POLSTER? What the hell kinda name is that?! You have any right to ask and we will answer: We are from Germany and POLSTER is the german word for "Cushion". A word usually describing the soft pillows on a couch or armchair  -  and while our name might allow associations with being soft, we, quite on the contrary, set out to manufacture a skateboard truck which can take a beating - and we're not talking "pillow fights", we're talking metal rods and concrete boulders - the everyday obstacles we encounter and which makes skateboarding so special. On top of being manufactured to outlast, POLSTER trucks allow for a smooth and comfortable ride which is quick to respond and yet assures stable Fahrvergnügen. Like I said, we are German - and you know what they say about our engineering skills. It was a long stretch from the sketchboard to the first delivery but now it is finally here: The POLSTER 5.0 Truck is the first release in what will grow to become the extended family of skateboard trucks for every terrain.

So, let's take a detailed look at our baby, the POLSTER 5.0 Truck:

The Polster 5.0 truck is a medium height skateboard truck with a classic yet significant look. We have always been fans of the simplicity of functional design and we tried to incorporate this love into our product line. Polster trucks are made from T6 heat treated 356 aluminum which combines maximum strength and minimum weight. The 5.0 truck is now available in a variety of different colorways and finishes.

The carbon steel axle on the POLSTER 5.0 features beveled tips to prevent the thread-ends from being damaged by impact or friction. The bushings which come as a standard with the 5.0 truck are 95a (medium) and manufactured exclusively for POLSTER from high rebound urethane which makes the truck quick to respond while still allowing for a smooth and stable ride.

The 5.0 Truck features a New School Grad 8 steel kingpin. It's ribbed shaft prevents slippage of the kingpin even after months of wear and tear. By getting rid of as much surplus material as possible without compromising stability, the POLSTER baseplate is engineered to be lightweight yet robust.

No slipping. No bending. No gimmicks. POLSTER Trucks are manufactured under the three pillars of a quality product: Performance. Strength. Endurance.

In addition to the 5.0 truck, we are currently working on the POLSTER 5.25 Truck with a scheduled release in fall of 2010. Once the 5.25 hits the streets we will be able to provide a truck for any popular deck width. For 2011 we are working on a POLSTER LOW truck which will feature a lower profile than the 5.0. So, stay tuned and check back with us frequently.

I guess it's needless to say but I still feel I should mention it after all this "tech talk": POLSTER Trucks is skater-owned and operated. We understand POLSTER as a european company with international appeal and of course we are seeking international representation on both, the sales and the team department. We are currently building a team of skateboarders to represent POLSTER all over Europe and we are proud to announce that Daniel Spiegel (Austria), Danny Sommerfeld (Germany) and Florian "Harrie" Hachenberger (Germany) are the first team riders to take POLSTER Trucks to the streets. We will have some more updates on the team soon.

Please consider this site as still being "under construction". We will work on it as we stroll along giving it the opportunity to grow naturally. That's just the way we do it. We are skateboarders: we have ideas not strategies.
